Health Care, Politics, Doctors and Insurance Companies

I usually try to avoid politics because it just stresses me out.
But with all the talk about the new health care legislation.
I noticed that there are many people who are very upset and fearful.
What does all this mean about democracy, government control and the like.
I don't blame anyone for that. It has become so complicated that
average people don't have much of a chance of knowing whats really going on.
We probably won't know or how we we'll be effected positive or negative for quite a while.

I'd like to spread a little hope and optimism in the depths of all the uncertainty.
I want you to know that there is a much more practical way to effect health care costs.
And It won't involve Politics, Doctors or Insurance companies.

You see I was talking with a client of mine (a health care professional) who had read the entire health care bill.
She said she didn't know why people were so upset.
"Because 30% of your health is hereditary, 30% of your health is what you eat
and 30% of your health is exercise. Only 10% of your health depends on what a doctor can do for you."
At that moment I realized she was right. We have the ability to effect our health care cost in a big way.
We don't have to wait for some illness to come upon us.
We can change our behaviors and habits to support our health right now.

The thing is that doctors are usually dealing with the symptoms of an illness by the time you get to see them.
Like putting out a raging fire you don't have the luxury of dealing with the cause until the fire is out.

But we know from research that most illness is caused by unhealthy habits.
For instance we all know that smoking can lead to stroke, heart attacks and cancer.
Research shows that over eating and being over weight can lead to type 2 diabetes,
Hypertension, and Heart disease. Then there is the lack of physical activity which directly effects
your serotonin levels(mood)and the strength of your heart and lungs. And not getting enough sleep if nothing
else can cause you to make unhealthy decisions about every thing else.

Now if we would each take responsibility for our own health and well being.
We could effect health care costs in a significant way.
We are all intelligent people and we know what we should be doing to support our health.
I'm not saying this is easy. If it were we would all be much healthier right now.

This is where Hypnosis can help our becoming more responsible with our health.
It can reduce and eliminate cravings for unhealthy food and tobacco.
It can increase your desire for exercise and drinking water.
It can help you dissolve old habits that are difficult to change with logic and will power.
It can help you fall asleep quickly and easily with out medication that can leave you groggy.

Hypnosis is completely natural and has no negative side effects.
So when you are ready to cut your health care cost significantly Hypnosis can help.

I Can!

The base of a great collaborative effort is "I can." This simple phrase captures the qualities of empowerment and action that are required to reach beyond an idea. In a world with so many reasons why we cannot accomplish our dreams, the collective power of joining others who "can" creates its own momentum, joy and passion.

The contagious quality of when someone says "I can" is beautifully illustrated in this clip. For myself, "I can" is an expression of the mentality of being in action.

Collaboration built on this infectious "I can" can be fun and meaningful, but also enriching.

2010 SiFi with Posibilities

2010 reminds me of 1984. It sounds like some futuristic SiFi movie. In 1984 I gave the year an extra meaning. Like that year was going to change my life in some really great way. Looking back it did. And I am feeling the same way about 2010. You see this year I am going to become a grandmother. In order to be the grand mother I want to be I will need to have a lot more stamina than I have right now. That is why this coming year I am determined to become as physically fit as this 55 year old woman can be. This goal is extremely important to me so instead of having a new years resolution I have a New Years Plan for success.

Here are six very simple guidelines I want to share with you
that I have used to help me plan and succeed.

1. Write the goal you want to achieve.
2. Write the reason you want to reach your goal.
3. Write the starting point of your goal. (where you are now)
4. Write the actions you will need to take to achieve your goal.
5. Write the support you will need to achieve your goal.
6. Write the date you plan to achieve your goal.

That's it.

Having a plan makes it much more likely that you will achieve your goal.

Wishing you all a Healthy, Successful and Prosperous New Year.
